Our Story

Eleni’s Pizza Works is a family-owned Greek kitchen and pizzeria that has been serving the Sarasota community since 2004. What started as a small neighborhood pizza shop on 15th Street East has grown into one of the most beloved restaurants in the area — known for our distinctive New England-style Greek pan pizza, generous portions, and warm family atmosphere.

Our recipes come from three generations of Greek home cooks. Eleni — the family matriarch — brought her kitchen traditions from New England to Florida, and we’ve been cooking the same way ever since: fresh ingredients, handmade dough, and no shortcuts.

What Makes Us Different

If you’ve ever had pizza at a Greek-owned pizzeria in Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Rhode Island, you’ll recognize our crust immediately. Our dough is proofed for 24 hours in olive oil, then baked in seasoned pans until the bottom turns golden and crispy. It’s a style that simply doesn’t exist anywhere else in Sarasota.

But we’re more than pizza. Our kitchen turns out fresh pasta dishes, crisp salads with homemade dressings, loaded subs, and a full lineup of appetizers. We also cater lunches and events for offices throughout the Airport Commerce Center industrial corridor — feeding hardworking crews who need real food, fast.

A Family Restaurant for Everyone

Eleni’s is a place where construction workers grab lunch at 11:30, families sit down for dinner at 6, and snowbirds discover what they’ve been missing since they left the Northeast. We’re casual, welcoming, and proudly unpretentious. Come as you are.

Community First

For over 20 years, Eleni’s has been part of the fabric of Sarasota’s Whitfield neighborhood. We sponsor local youth sports teams, donate to community events, and make sure nobody leaves our restaurant hungry. That’s not a business strategy — it’s how our family was raised.
